Württemberg shore
Friedrichshafen
The largest town on the northern shore — with a promenade that leaves room, and architecture fond of straight edges.
Wide promenade, harbour, clear lines · Best time: Evening hours; overcast days for soft light

The place
Friedrichshafen is more sober than the old towns further east, and that is exactly its appeal. Clean building edges, concrete, water: this yields graphic images that work particularly well in black and white, because nothing distracts from the structure.
The light
The open shoreline means a lot of sky and little shade. On clear summer days midday is difficult here; the evening, by contrast, is generous, because the light settles across the whole expanse.

Practical
Easy to reach with sufficient parking — practical when guests arrive from different directions. For quiet couple portraits it pays to walk a little way out of the centre.
