The place
Überlingen feels less shaped by tourism than other lakeside towns. The old moat with its mature trees and the wide shore grounds offer two very different worlds: shaded and dense on one side, open and bright on the other.
The light
The promenade looks south across the lake — in the evening light arrives from the side and stretches long across the lawns. In the moat it stays soft even at midday, because the trees filter it.
