Württemberg shore
Immenstaad & Hagnau
Two small wine villages on the northern shore that show the lake from orchards and vines rather than from the promenade.
Orchards down to the shore · Best time: Blossom in April; evening light in high summer

The place
Hagnau and Immenstaad are narrowly built and quickly crossed. Their value lies inland: fruit plantations and vine slopes leaning towards the water. From up there you look across the treetops onto the lake — an angle the shore never gives you.
The light
The south-facing slope makes for long evenings. During the April blossom the plantations look almost graphic, the rows standing strictly and the white working against the dark ground.

Practical
It is tight between the rows — unsuitable for large groups, all the better for couple portraits. Field tracks aren't always surfaced; sturdy shoes pay off on the way there.
